Overview

A Manhattan based startup set out to create a system to simplify and automate the generation of offering disclosure documents. In a short amount of time, we were able to build a Ruby on Rails application that was fresh looking - completely differentiating themselves from the typical, boring legal software market.

With the client in a different location, all of our communication was remote. We were able to leverage an online collaborative service to manage our product, continuously giving insight into the work being completed.

We were able to have a lot of fun with this project. While the technical requirements were demanding, the client supported us adding visual quirks to help motivate the user so they completed what is normally a long and arduous process. We are thankful it turned into opportunities to continue working with this spectacular client.

Technology

The application was developed in Ruby on Rails where we faced the difficult task of breaking up a large document into separate section and subsections. It uses AWS S3 for asset storage and has asynchronous jobs that run when a user needs their documents finalized and downloadable.

The documents that we generate can be viewed at any time in the creation process and are available in PDF and Word formats that are built dynamically.
